Spa Spotlight: Vitae Med Spa in Dallas

I recently visited Vitae Med Spa in Dallas for a Hydraplane, which is Dermaplane and HydraFacial combined! Talk about a winning combo. My skin has never been so happy! Since I essentially wear stage makeup on camera and with Spring Training coverage around the corner, I wanted to make sure my skin was in tip top shape. Let’s dive in deeper and I’ll tell you more about my amazing experience!

First up, Candice (my esthetician) began with the Dermaplane treatment after removing my makeup.

  1. How does the Dermaplane treatment work? Candice used a sterile, surgical scalpel and gently shaved around my face for maximum exfoliation. It removes “the top-most layer of dead skin cells along with vellus hair”. Overall, it took around 15 minutes.

  2. Is it painful? Not at all! It just feels like regular shaving, but if you have extremely flaky or dry skin, have your esthetician assess your skin before proceeding to avoid sensitivity.

  3. How often should someone Dermaplane? 4-6 weeks, most likely closer to 6 weeks.

  4. What are the benefits and results? Your skin will be the smoothest it’s ever been! It helps with the appearance of your makeup and removes tiny peach fuzz hairs. It also helps your skincare absorb into your skin since new fresh skin is brought to the surface. I would definitely recommend the Dermaplane treatment before getting a HydraFacial or even a chemical peel.

After Dermaplaning, we went into the HydraFacial. My skin is pretty sensitive and I haven’t had any issues with this type of facial. In fact, my skin loves it especially since it’s on the drier side!

  1. What does a HydraFacial do? According to Vitae Med Spa’s website, “A HydraFacial is a hydradermabrasion procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection simultaneously.”

  2. What are the benefits and results of a HydraFacial? If you’re like me and have skin that’s dry to normal, this is the perfect facial for you because it hydrates your face like no products on the market can. You get immediate results with no downtime! It’s a painless process for people with sensitive skin because the acids are so gentle. When the HydraFacial is over, ask your esthetician to see what came out of your skin. You can see everything that the machine pulled out so you know the treatment was doing its job!

  3. How long does it take? Only 30 minutes!

  4. What services does Vitae Med Spa offer? You can see their full menu here, but their most popular services are the Hydraplane, chemical peels and the PhotoFacial. I will be getting a PhotoFacial soon so I’ll report back with my findings and experience.

Check out Vitae Med Spa’s website as well as their Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to show Candice some love on social media too, she is the sweetest and is so wonderful at what she does!
